Hey Bristol Rising Members,
I’ve been running in the Bristol Shamrock Walk/Run for a few years now. This is an annual event that draws 1,800 to 2,200+ people each year (and growing). The 9th annual race will be held on Saturday, March 19th, 2011 @ Chippens Hill Middle School in Bristol, CT. It’s a local Bristol charity event that raises money for a homeless shelter. There is a kids fun run, a 2-mile walk/run, and a 5-mile run. This event draws a great crowd of Bristol folks and people from the surrounding areas of all age groups.
Prior to the races and during registration, they have booths/tables to promote various products and/or services or organizations. I thought it would be a great event to raise awareness, participatin and new membership to Bristol Rising & educate a wide range of people on what Renaissance Downtown is doing. Mark has done a wonderful job discussing this with Pat Collins who coordinates this event, and he has secured a Bristol Rising table spot for the event.
The event goes from 7am (registration) to about 1pm (after race festivities) on Saturday March 19th, 2011 @ Chippens Hill Middle School.
I’ve gladly volunteered my time to work the table/booth for as long as I can, but I’m also running the 5-mile race that day. It would be helpful if there were any other Bristol Rising members that would love to volunteer some of their time as well to assist me. The idea would be to promote and educate the community about Bristol Rising and Renaissance Downtown.
In addition to the table to Rep Bristol Rising, they have also worked it out to have Bristol Rising cards placed in each of the pint glasses that are sold during this event.
Please let me know if you would like to volunteer a few hours of your time to man this location with me. Your help would be greatly appreciated! It’s a great Bristol event where we can reach a large number people and spread the word of what we’re all trying to acheive.
Thank You!
