Grow a tree population in downtown Bristol. The benefits:
Environmental & ecological
- temperature modification – shade, evaporative cooling, saves energy (air- conditioning), reduces urban heat island effect
- air quality improvement – interception of particles, gas absorption
- carbon dioxide storage – trees store CO2 as wood
- stormwater and catchment benefits – tree canopies as “mini-reservoirs”
Aesthetic & visual
- softening, privacy, seasonal interest, define spaces, attract wildlife etc.
Social, psychological & spiritual
- restorative powers – a glimpse of green from “nearby nature”
- reduction of aggression & crime
- helping children with ADD & ADHD
- building communities
Economic benefits to business
- increased property values, preferred retail and business premises

can be decorated.
Try to keep the birds mainly in the woods, otherwise crap is going to be all over downtown.
I think Rockwell park, the hill behind Lake Coumpounce and Birdge pond/ the Hoppers fits the bill. Plenty of forest in the area.
And not to mention that plants thrive on CO2 and in turn give off oxygen.
Trees would not only be aesthetic and welcoming for downtown Bristol but great for the environment. It would also attract native birds as well. There are so many benefits to this idea.
