  1. With good reason, in comparisson. But there were communities back in the early 1900′s that had there own currency and because of that, it virtually enslaved the local population who earned and spent nothing but the communities own money because it was good nowhere else but in that particular community. It was worth virtually nothing for converting. Granted, that would probably only be a problem if the local area was totally dependant on that currency.

    If currency is to have true value, it needs something valuable in/on it. Like gold or silver in the paper and or ink. Something that can be removed, in some way, from the currency. Something of hard value. Anything less is too easily manipulated, as we’re experiencing now.
