I am thinking along the lines of Fired Up in Branford. This place is always packed with a range of “authentic” artists, newbies, kids, and crafters. The point of these places is to provide the pottery and glaze and let your imagination do its thing. Some also provide kiln services for potters who can not feasibly keep their own kilns in their apts/homes. Many also have BYOB bookings and midnight gatherings.

I lived in North Stonington and close by was a similar and very popular place. I actually used the facility before I started doing mosaics it is awesome!!
I went to the Pottery Piazza in Plainville and had a wonderful time. During the day, parents take their children and in the evenings, teenage, college, young adults and adults have an opportunity to paint as well. They hold women’s nites and date nights. I will be going again on women’s nite with some girlfriends, It’s byob and they encourage you to bring food.
