The Center can be combined with several ideas listed such as comedy club, live music venue, small movie theater etc. How about a place if you want to host an event for a fundraiser a dance, or large party. Events that would be typically held outside on the piazza but would have to be postponed because of weather could be moved into the Event Center.
Enjoy dinner, drinks, draft beer, and a movie all at once. First-run, independent, and classic films, with stadium-style seating alternating with tables to wine and dine. In addition to the regular movie fare, the Center wil feature special events including screenings, celebrities, free midnight movie cult classics, comedians, music shows, etc. How about letting organizations or interested parties rent it out for an event or maybe host a workshop on a popular subject?
Busboys & Poets in D.C. as well as the Alamo DraftHouse in Austin Texas are two successful venues. Let’s utilize and maximize the space to combine the many ideas suggested that would include everyone.
multipurpose is always a good way to go, especially when working with limited space. If we can get people back to the survey site, this one will take off I’m sure!
I am afraid that would prevent utilization of lovely Memorial Boulevard.
That was my thinking about making the most with the limited space. The Performing Arts Center would not have the retractable movie screen and the mutipurpose venue would be simialr to Bus Boys and Poets in DC. Google it. It sounds really interesting and it may be a good fit for Bristol.
