I would love to see a community center with a kitchen and natural gas powered generator that could be rented out for citizens events but would also be used as an emergency center if there is an emergency such as Winter Storm Alfred, where power is lost to many and the people downtown who cannot travel up to places like Chippens Hill would be able to go shelter – the kitchen and generator would be requirements for the Red Cross to use it as an emergency shelter. Right now the majority of the downtown people cannot travel to the available shelters especially in bad weather.
