Ale House and Wine Bar

At the Bristol Rising Meetup on May 18th, our idea for an Ale House and Wine Bar was introduced as a result of the enthusiasm of the Retail Focus Group who highlighted a “brewpub”. We are submitting our Ale House and Wine Bar as an entry to ask for your support and vote. We know that the idea for a brewpub has been very well received. We love that idea as well, however, rather than brewing our own beer, our Ale House and Wine Bar would feature a large variety of craft beers along with wines from around the country, and would include a small, but delicious, menu that would suit the discerning beer and wine patron.

In brief, our Ale House and Wine Bar will offer a welcoming and friendly gathering place where the environment will allow you to chat and mingle without loud disruptive background noise. There will be enjoyable background music, along with weekly or monthly live entertainment, and we will have board games and tavern puzzles available for patrons to play. Our Ale House and Wine Bar will also be a place where you can visit alone, comfortably, and spend time reading our daily newspapers or beer and wine periodicals, surf the internet using our table top iPads, and have available free Wi-Fi.

Our Ale House and Wine Bar will pride itself on its selections of craft beer and wines. We will be the first in Connecticut to offer classes and seminars by brew masters and wine experts. We will offer seasonal keg tappings and wine releases from selected breweries and vineyards. We will also feature and display local artists’ work and support and sponsor cultural and community events.

We are committed to the triple bottom line. We are Bristol residents who currently live in and own a home in downtown Bristol. It is our dream and our goal to see our Ale House and Wine Bar be part of a prosperous Bristol community’s future.

  1. Wow, he chose to go forward with the busway. When everyone was hating him after he announced his tax increases I went with Ryan and Mark and others to the high school to hear him speak. I was impressed with him, he sounded intelligent and fiscally responsible. I guess how you sound and how you act can be two different things. $173,000 per new rider, here we come!

  2. I will happily support any venture you put forward. I wish you luck and success.

  3. Thank you! We hope to bring something new, interesting and exciting to Bristol.

    Have a wonderful Holiday weekend!!!!

    Victor.

  4. Sounds fantastic! I can’t wait to see this happen.

  5. Sounds great. I would like it to happen for sure.

  6. What a wonderful idea. You’ll have people lining up at the door!

  7. There is 169 votes on Brew Pub/Restaurant and 40 for Ale House and Wine Bar. I think you should combine them which would make 109, which would only leave 91 more votes until a tasting event! How about it?! ;)

  8. I think combining it would be a good idea, but I think Victor is looking for something more upscale than a pub. Pubs area great, but they have a different crowd than a wine bar/brew bar.
    Just my opinion.

  9. 167! Keep it going! We love our neighbors!
