50's Diner

I think it would be great to have a diner in the downtown area. I think an old fashioned diner is something Bristol has been lacking for a long time. We do have Applewood diner on the Avenue but I think that place has become more of a late night hang out for a very specific type of patron. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but who wouldn’t like to have a place where you could have classic waffle fries and a buger with a strawberry shake to wash it all down. White and black checkerboard floors with bar stools and booths with jukebox players in every unit. Bring a piece of old American culture back to Bristol.

  1. I love the idea!  Whenever I’m driving somewhere, I’m always on the lookout for a good diner to try out.  There are some really good ones out there (some even serve buffalo burgers!) and having a good one downtown could lend some atmosphere…

  2. @ Paul, your comment is from a while ago, but I was talking about the Hamzy’s diner in Mafali’s Plaza on Main st.

  3. where is there a diner downtown?

  4. Like some of the other ideas on this website, Bristol already has at least one diner downtown. What about trying to convince the owners to remodel it more 50′s style? Or how about 1950′s/1980′s style, kind of like on Back to the Future II.

  5. Bristol had a real silver diner in the 50′s/60′s named The Eldorado Diner and it sat where Starbucks is now at the Bristol Shopping Plaza. IT was a popular spot.

  6. I like this there are no diners like this anywhere
