Thought I’d share this interesting article I read in “Connecticut Magazine” about the importance of a downtown area. It gives some idea of what other cities and towns in the state have been going thru, some of the reasons why, and ideas of what others are attempting to do.

We aren’t alone in our struggle; sometimes it only seems that…[Read more]

In regards to what I’ve heard about “Depot” being used in ANYTHING about the new project…people have a bad taste in their mouth about the word “depot”. It is associated with the failure that we are trying to rectify. It never really was a good name because of all the negative connotations associated with just the word itself….”depot”.…[Read more]

    Hi Bristolians!

I’ve been checking out Bristol Rising as part of a research project I’m doing at the University of Birmingham (UK). I’m investigating ways of using online tools to involve residents in […]

When I hit the ”like” button, instead of the number going up it goes down. What gives??

Hi Mary! You may have already liked that particular idea before. If the thumb is green then you previously ’liked’ the idea, so if you hit it again the number will go down and the thumb will return to a neutral grey – meaning it is not liked.

If the opposite is true, please let us know and we’ll dig deeper to make sure the problems are alleviated!

I like the idea, Tina! A year or so ago, the Greater Hartford Arts Counsel had some artists draw the outline of the Hartford skyline on the pavement down by the Old State House. Everyone was invited to walk over […]

Tina, I really like it… Actually, I’ve been trying to start up a sidewalk chalk element for the piazza event – doesn’t have to be huge, but just so peeps can go buck wild on the sidewalk.

    Would you want […]

I was thinking that the Bare Bones could generate some cash by doing a tag sale at the piazza. I’m sure we all have stuff laying around that we don’t want. Just a thought!
